Just registered celcom broadband last week. I chose a D68 @ RM68 package as I'll be using it only for mobile purpose. Especially on my pda.

p/s: Opera mobile is soo cool!!

Hye munz89. Default speed for D68 is 384kbps. In KB you should get around 30-45KB max.

This is my screenshot, your speed should be around this

It seems, you only manage to get 15KB. Have you used up your 5GB quota? There is a possibility your connection has been capped. If that so, you have to wait until the end of month where they will reset your account back to normal.

I am currently subscribing to celcom broadband D98 package, no contract because i bought the modem separately, i used AT&T wireless data express card. since the past 5 months, i also always experience the non-connection issue… the thing is it happens on and off and i’ve been emailing God-knows how many complaint email to celcom customer service. I demand for rebate but to no avail.

This month again the stupid connection problem occurs. Many complaint calls have been made and many troubleshooting have been tried. The problem still persists. And yeah i totally agree about the game, i’ve striked high scores but my score couldnt be uploaded, how nerve-wracking it was!!! but that’s not so critical.. imagine spending half an hour (at least) looking and checking your connection status with the “X’ mark shown, clicking “Diagnose” button God-knows how many times and in the end still fail to load the webpage that u want to surf? It is truly pressurising!!!

We have the choice of wireless and wired broadband… We chose to pay RM98/month for 3.6mpbs speed and for the sake of convenience (wireless). But we get less than 1mbps or even lesser than 512kbps (sometimes even no connection at all!!). They said, look at your service agreement, it’s a share based connection. I am staying in the heart of JB and experience non-connection (without reported network failure by the Celcom), it din make sense at all!! Service provider should improve their network coverage then! We have the rights to demand for the value of service we’ve paid for, not the SHITTY one!!

I was thinking of switching to maxis broadband (wireless or wired) but then i came across some blog saying maxis is more sucks than celcom... want to change back to streamyx, some commentors from izzatz previous blog pulak said streamyx lagi teruk...

Yesterday I managed to surf for like 1 hour (?) then the stupid connection problem happened again... did the troubleshooting all but still fail. Better switch off my laptop, takut i can go hypertension after trying so many times... this morning 6am i tried to connect again, worse! the data card was detected but keep searching for network... just for recap, im situated in the JB town and since the past 5 months, 99.99% i get excellent signal sign (HSDPA, although the actual connection very not excellent at all). Really frustrated.

I wonder if we can lodge complaint and sue them via the Tribunal Hal Ehwal Pengguna...? Sighs... So tired of these nonsense...

Hello nina,

I've been to JB, UTM Skudai to be precised and yes the connection were terrible. Just like when I'm in KL.

From what I've seen you have interest to change to other telcos like Streamyx. Here's something that I can advice, if you had fixed telephone line I strongly suggest you subscribe to Streamyx instead. Even though we've heard sooo much complaint about them but believe me, its far more better than wireless broadband in term of stability.

If you are looking for mobility then you've no choice. It's the best to stay with Celcom for now. (Maybe you should downgrade to RM68 package).

And here's another info, its just started yesterday. Internet disrupted across Asia because underseas cable cut again. You might faces some difficulty when surfing international sites but its fine with local gateway/sites.

p/s about the tribunal. I did heard some people manage to lodge a report and win back their money+total loss. I guess this is the best way when you are definitely gonna ditch celcom and never want to hear from them again.

Celcom wireless broadband really sux big time.It always keeps disconnecting itself.I juz subcribed to D98 plan 2 weeks ago.Actually,i didn't expect to get 3.6mbps,so i tot it was great if i can get average 2mbps,BUT..................at the end urs should know wat happen next lah.Sometimes i do get 1.5mbps(HSDPA),100-110kbps(HSUPA) during off-peak(I think i was the only person using celcom 3G in JB by that time ;) )But,at around 4-6pm i only can get 100-110(HSDPA),100-110kbps(HSUPA).I do make some complaints but still the same as yours.During signing up the D98 plan,i forgot to ask abt the upload speed and the upload speed was damn weak. What celcom can offer me is a superb stable uplaod speed of avg 100-110kbps(very amazing huh :? ).If celcom not doing something about upload speed,i think we will still having a lot problems surfing net lah.Recently,i bought a new usb modem(Huawei E180),but .........same old story lah, shit.
With RM$98,i can get 7.2mbps(download),2mbps(upload) in singapore. They even have 100mbps(download),10mbps(upload) for cable modem(monthly=S$90).Hai,i really jealous and angry about that(sometime,i tot want to stay at sg bcos of that :D ).So,i thk celcom and TMnet should look into it seriously.

I feel you man. Of course the jealousy shall arise sooner or later when watching our neighbor broadband pace. It's really sad actually for us Malaysian. One thing we should be grateful of is the law enforcement on copyright materials here in Boleh Land. There is no authority busting our house down for copyright infringement or heard any similar cases like that in Malaysia.

Soon Malaysia will be the prime datacenter for warez hosting!

Malaysia Boleh!!!

Shit, not again.I'm really very, very fustrated abt celcom wireless, man.I need to try severals time then can get online but after a while keep on disconneting itself.I'm going to try another 3 months,if still didn't get any inprovement then i will say bye-bye to Celcom, cuz my blood pressure was rising a little bit due to fustration and dissapointment  .Its was totally a waste of time.Streamyx also have a lot problems regarding stability.I will patiently wait for streamyx to launch their so call 4mbps(download),2mbps(upload) plan in JB.Hope that the higher upload speed will offer more stability during surfing and hopefully TM will implement fiber optics cables in JB instead of normal big and stupid cables.
Regarding the wireless broadband in sg,they also have the disconnecting issues. But far MORE better if compare to celcom lah.Recently,i download some drivers from internet using sg broadband(at friend house) and he was using 10mbps(download),2mbps(upload) plan. The download speed was damn amazing,i only need abt 30 secs to complete my 40MB download files and 5 mins to complete my 300MB files.Average i can get are 1mb/s downlod speed and the worst also around 350kb/s - 500kb/s download speed.I try to do it on celcom and 2 hrs also cannot complete to finish downloading the 40MB drivers, damn it.
